Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka is an American British musician and sitarist. She won the British House of Commons' Shield in the year of her youngest and the first female to receive it. Alongside nine Grammy nominations She was also the first Indian-born musician to be a presenter and performer in the live ceremony. Anoushka Sitar Shankar is the Indian young sitar star. She is a student and child of Ravi Shankar. Born in London in 1982, and began her life by hopping to London and New Delhi. In New Delhi, she made her first appearance at only 13 years old. After that, she relocated into Encinitas CA, where she received the High School diploma with honors in 1999. Anouskha is yet to be a mature woman however she's got an remarkable career in the field of music and performance. She regularly performs with her dad and has done so for many years. In 1998, she dropped Anourag as her debut album as a solo artist. Two years later she released the Grammy nomination-winning Live in Carnegie Hall. She has appeared at many important venues across the world. Her career extends beyond music. In 2002 she published a book entitled Bapi The Love of My Live this is a pictorial biography which is a tribute to her father Ravi Shankar. Also, she has acted. in the 2003 movie Dance Like a Man, where she played an Bharat natyam dancing young girl. Anoushka Shankar is an English born singer who travelled her childhood split between London, Delhi and California. Anoushka Shankar started her musical studies when she was nine. After four years, she made her appearance on the sitar in Delhi during her father's 75th birthday party. The father of Anoushka travelled the world with her and she also gained a variety of opportunities. As she was teenagers, Anoushka performed at Carnegie Hall in Peter Gabriel's WOMAD music festival. The youngest female to be awarded the House of Commons Shield, awarded by British Parliament in recognition of her musical talent and artistic ability in performing in the Asian Arts.
